Bummer!

The Admissions Office of the University of California/San Diego accidentally sent out an e-mail to rejected applicants congratulating them on their acceptance and welcoming them to UCSD.

Too Many Games

Tim Cowlishaw says that the NFL should not expand it's schedule by adding two more games every year.

Cranky Greg couldn't agree more.  The NFL season is already too long.  What the NFL should do is ditch a couple of the preseason games every year and that would everyone happier except for Jerry Jones and the other owners who like to scam season ticket holders by forcing them to pay for silly little preseason games while the starters are cooling their heels on the bench.

The NBA suffers from way too many games.  Cranky Greg used to love the NBA and the Dallas Mavericks and the Magic-era Lakers, but really the NBA season is really just a waste.  Almost all of the teams end up in the playoffs, and the playoffs drag on forever.  It's the middle of summer before the NBA season is over!  Watching the NBA in June is just not fun.  The NBA needs to dispose of a couple of rounds of playoffs and let the regular season actually mean something.

The same goes for the NHL.  Almost all of the NHL teams get into the playoffs, making the regular season largely meaningless.  While there is nothing more exciting than NHL playoff games, they seem to just drag on.  Cut out some rounds of playoffs, make the regular season mean something, and make the NHL exciting and relevant again.

Baseball is guilty of this, too.  Cowlishaw points out that the World Series will not end this year until NOVEMBER!  That is crazy.  Baseball season should end on Labor Day weekend and then the playoffs should start.  Everything should be over by early October.

Creepy Obama

Cranky Greg is getting creeped out with Barack Obama and his minions who appear to be taking control of damn near everything, while trying to make Americans feel good about this transformation.  It's like creepy Communism or something.  Kinda like this creepy Coke commericlal from the 1970's.

Goodbye to Gottschalks

Fresno is home to the Gottschalks department store chain.

Gottschalk's will be "liquidated."

Cranky Greg hardly ever shops in department stores, preferring to stay away from malls and doing most of his shopping at Amazon or Paul Fredrick.

Nevertheless, it is a sad day for Fresno when a long-time business anchor goes belly-up.

Unfortunately, this is a trend rather than the exception.

More on Dallas PD Officer Robert Powell

Robert Powell, that moron who is a police officer with the Dallas Police Department, apparently has a pattern of acting like the tough guy he is not.

Zach Thomas says his wife was the target of Powell's wrath some months ago, and Powell arrested her over a minor traffic offense and no proof of insurance.

It's time for the DPD to fire Powell and do it now.  He is a disgusting person.

Dr. Tiller the Killer and his "Therapeutic Abortion Care"

Dr. George Tiller of Kansas is a baby killer.  He's a murderer.  Tiller kills babies for a living.  He's been doing it since 1973! Today in Kansas, the killer escaped justice when he was acquitted of a misdemeanor for killing babies without getting another doctor's approval.

What makes Dr. Tiller such a despicable human being is that he specializes in late-term abortions.  He really likes to profit from killing babies that are old enough to live outside the womb!!

How proud his mother must be.

Dr. Tiller is in the same league with Dr. Mengele.

Dallas Police Officer Robert Powell is an ASS!!

 Dallas Police officer Robert Powell is an ass.  He's a bastard!!

He should be fired, immediately!

Why?  Consider this:

Ryan Moats was in Dallas driving to the hospital with his family to see his mother-in-law before she died of cancer.  It was late at night.  Being in a hurry due to the emergency, Moats rolled through a red light.

Asshole Dallas cop Robert Powell, the tough guy that he is, stopped Moats at the hospital, and while Moats' mother-in-law was dying, proceeded to threaten and ticket Moats, causing Moats to be stuck in a parking lot getting a ticket from one of Dallas' worst.  Moats' mother-in-law died while Moats was being harassed by Ass Powell.

Not all cops are like that.  A few years ago, Crnaky Greg was driving to his office in Fort Worth when he got a call that his mother-in-law died unexpectedly.  Cranky immediately turned around to go home and started driving about 80 mph down a Fort Worth freeway.  Cranky was stopped by a Fort Worth police officer.  Cranky informed the polite and professional officer of the situation, and the officer immediately expressed sympathy and told Cranky to go home to see his wife but to be careful.

Contrast that common-sense empathetic police officer in Fort Worth with that narcissistic ass in Dallas!

The Kindle

Cranky Greg left his Kindle at the office today, and he is irritated.  An evening without his Kindle!  Obama is spending Cranky's money and Cranky doesn't have his Kindle!

And tomorrow, Cranky Greg has the pleasure of hanging out at the courthouse waiting for a silly trial, with probably lots of downtime, which is what the Kindle is made for.

He says that if taxpayers buy the "toxic debt" from sleazy banks, everything will get better!

Wall Street is all excited, which makes Cranky Greg very nervous.

Why wouldn't Wall Street be excited?  Cranky Greg would be excited, too, if someone else bought all of Cranky Greg's bad decisions.

The other day taxpayers learned that the Fed was gonna print up a trillion dollars to buy our own debt.  Cranky Greg hasn't figured that one out yet and today taxpayers learned that Obama wants to use taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street Fat Cats.

What would all those smart guys on Wall Street do without all of the dumb ol' taxpayers in Fly Over Country?

And Cranky Greg is sick of hearing that AIG and GM and the others are "too big to fail."

Says who?

The taxpayers are getting screwed by the Republicans and now the Democrats.

The banks that made bad loans should fail.  The companies that make crappy cars should fail.

Chump Taxpayers

Cranky Greg watched President Obama tonight on 60 Minutes.  He appears shockingly inept and speaks the language it appears he's been taught by the Wall Streeters.  It's amazing that as a candidate for president, he ran back to Washington to vote for the initial bail-out bill.  And now he feigns outrage.
