Amazon Prime

Instapundit has written about Amazon Prime, which is Amazon.com's membership program that costs $79 per year but gets you two-day shipping for free and overnight shipping for $3.99.  Anything that Amazon stocks is eligible for this program.

Cranky Greg has had Amazon Prime for over two years, and loves it.  Cranky Greg hates, for the most part, going to stores like Best Buy or Circuit City or even bookstores.  Customers always get hassled by stupid salespeople, and always hassled about being a member of their buying clubs.

How many frickin' membership cards can a guy carry?

So Cranky Greg gets all his stuff from Amazon.  Books, DVD's, CD's, office supplies, computer supplies, everything.

And it gets to Fresno fast.  Cranky can have it sent to the office or his home.

Cranky Greg has purchased a lot more from Amazon than he otherwise would have, because of the shipping.....fast and only $79 per year!

If you need something overnight, the $3.99 charge is worth it, especially with escalating gas prices.

Amazon Prime is an excellent idea.  Good riddance Best Buy, Circuit City, Barnes & Noble, etc!!!!!
