Maria Elena Holly, Buddy Holly's widow, is a bitch.

Buddy's hometown of Lubbock, Texas, has a Walk of Fame and the Buddy Holly Terrace which celebrates Lubbock's famous citizens.

But Ms. Holly wants even more money for licensing fees for the City of Lubbock to use Buddy's name.  So the City won't use Buddy's name.

It's the City for Pete's sake.

Is Maria Elena Holly gonna make $25 less if the City uses Buddy's name for free?

Maria Elena Holly does this shit all the time.

About ten years ago, Cranky Greg was at a Texas Tech football game when Ms. Holly was given an award on behalf of Buddy.  When she walked onto the field, she was booed!

She should encourage Buddy's hometown to use Buddy's name.  Hell, Lubbock was the last place on Earth to realize what a big deal Buddy Holly really was.

I agree that maria had every right to remarry after Buddy's tragic death. She gave up the Holly name a legacy upon her 2nd marriage. I agree also that it seems she wants only the money she can amke off of Buddy's name. Sad and selfish. What about buddy's family? Does she even give a thought to their feelings and their loss? I agree with john up there. I personally know Maria Elena very well. She helped my father raise me. I find it very interesting that so many people have such a negative opinion about her. I may have a biast opinion, but still. I know her as a very caring and loving person. What I really don't understand is why "Cranky Greg" cares so much about her to write a blog about it, nor why he has the right to call her a bitch. No one here has walked in her shoes, seen what she has, been through what she has, or anything of the sort.
